Troop 97 is a boy led Troop and Pack chartered by Crosspoint Community Church in Hattiesburg, MS. The troop and pack are very active and follow a calendar of events designed to teach and instill the scout values of building moral character, leadership and self reliance. This troop does traditional backpacking, canoeing, cycling, camping and skills are taught through merit badges to improve individual skills and achievements. Troop 97 attends summer and winter camp at Camp Tiak yearly, frequently attends other council camps, philmont as well as local and national jamborees. Roosevelt Winter CampWe have had to postpone this camp out because Sumrall is having their baseball tryouts that Saturday.  The new date/location is still to be determined. More details will follow.

If you missed the payment, this is done electronically with you sons email attached.  Sorry no out of date range payments are sent. Woodruff has specific pay times for proper accural.    If you missed a payment and you registered you may make the 2nd payment (twice)  if YOUR PLANS HAVE CHANGED PLEASE NOTIFY THE SM NOW!!  If you miss the second payment, have additional plans for summer!  You will not be able to catch up. THe second payment will be posted in mid March and the Final payment in May.

Scouts if you are in a Leadership Position (THE PATROL LEADERS COUNCIL) if your plans are to have a position next Fall.  THe Andrew Jackson Counil is hosting this even May 24-29th  If you are interested in this make sure your at Mondays meeting!  

Wood Badge

Leaders:     Several have asked about WOOD BADGE... This is an opportunity for you as a leader to step up and be recognized for your efforts and skills for yourself and scouts.  Basically put, Wood badge is best described as and adult Eagle Scout:   If you are interested we have a short window of opportunity for registration:  There are 3 opportunities please email if these dates will work for you:  Andrew Jackson council dates are:   March 6, 7, 8  and March 27, 28, and 29.... Columbus Council dates:   February 27, 28, 3/1 and March 20, 21 and 22.  SELA council dates: March 27, 28, 29 and April 18, 19, 20  Cost is $225 to $250.00   please if you can check your dates and let me know before Monday if you are interested and would like this opportunity.

Scouts headed for Cavalcade 2015 at Philmont,   Your final payment is due by February 14th.   We will determine transportation fees and T-shirts in March.  Remember you must be a minimum of LIFE to attend.  Scouts who registered First Class or above must have Eagle Requirements complete.   THERE IS NO REFUNDS!
