PINE BURR COUNCIL TROOP 97 SUMRALL/HATTIESBURG

Troop 97 is a boy led Troop and Pack chartered by Oak Grove United Methodist Church  4915 Old Highway 11  Hattiesburg, MS. The troop and pack are very active and follow a calendar of events designed to teach and instill the scout values of building moral character, leadership and self reliance. This troop does traditional backpacking, canoeing, cycling, camping and skills are taught through merit badges to improve individual skills and achievements. Troop 97 attends summer and winter camp at Camp Tiak yearly, frequently attends other council camps, philmont as well as local and national jamborees. Scouts/Parents the PLC and Committee is looking at potentially 2 fundraisers for the troop.   Information will be provided this week... This will occur of the Labor Day Holiday Weekend so please be prepared.

Scouts Registration is Open for Paul B Johson Camp out... Cost is per person you may register by clicking on the calendar... AN ONLINE PAYMENT MUST BE COMPLETED FOR COMPLETE REGISTRATION.     Make sure all registration is complete by September 7th.

Membership for the 2016 Season will begin IN SEPTEMBER.. All payments will be online if you are new to the Troop or Pack a BSA application will need to be completed.

Scouts... Plans are to depart on June 25th and Return July 3rd... Plans for 2 nights on the road, meals, Camping at Pohick Bay,  Touring the Museums, Arlington....   Space will be limited!   Cost is $445.00 per person and Includes transportation, Metro fees, food, hotel, camping in DC....... A $100.00 deposit is Due By August  20.   THE DEPOSIT IS NONREFUNDABLE!   MINIMUM RANK is STAR! YOU MUST HAVE ADVANCED 2 RANKS and ACTIVELY SERVE IN LEADERSHIP>> NO LEADERSHIP DC!   YOU MUST KNOW THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION YOU ARE SERVING AND DEMONSTRATE EFFECTIVELY THE POSITION AND PASS ON YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO YOUR ASSISTANT!
